How can economic performance, environmental resilience and social impact be reconciled?
How can economic performance, environmental resilience and social impact be reconciled?
Faced with planetary boundaries and social instability, organisations are becoming aware of their interdependence with natural ecosystems and are gradually changing their approaches to respond to polycrises.
However, our governance models remain rooted in outdated practices that do not take into account the nature and diversity of the generations that are shaping our collective future.
To evolve in this era of change, we need a change in era transforming how our organisations are governed.
Stakeholders dialogue brings together the voices of nature, youth, and senior leaders to meet the vision of a desirable future–for companies to mitigate current risks, adapt to a changing world, and shape the future.

Redefining the term 'Generation'
The Council for Future Generations bases its work on a definition of the term ‘generation’ adapted to the essential needs of humans and non-humans in order to improve decision-making that reconciles economics and ecology.
Generation
/ˌdʒen.əˈreɪ.ʃən/
The totality of all life, including all humans and non-humans alive on Earth at any given time — who collectively share an inherent capacity and responsibility to safeguard its future.
